Two explosive middleweight fighters are set to go head-to-head in a highly anticipated matchup at UFC 292 in Boston. Gerald Meerschaert (35-16) will square off against Andre Petroski (9-1) inside the TD Garden on August 19. Both fighters are known for their finishing abilities, combining for an impressive total of 41 finishes in their 44 professional victories.
Petroski, a Season 29 competitor on "The Ultimate Fighter," showcased his skills by reaching the semifinals of the tournament before falling short to eventual winner Bryan Battle. Since then, the New Jersey native has been on a tear, securing four consecutive wins in the UFC, with three of those victories coming by way of stoppage.
Most recently, Petroski impressed with a unanimous decision win over Wellington Turman, ending Turman's streak of three consecutive finishes. Within a span of less than nine months, Petroski defeated fellow TUF 29 castmates Micheal Gillmore, Yaozong Hu, and Nick Maximov.
On the other side of the Octagon, Meerschaert has faced some recent setbacks, losing two out of his last three fights since 2022. While his submission victory over Bruno Silva showcased his grappling prowess, Meerschaert experienced a decision loss to Krzysztof Jotko and suffered a knockout defeat at the hands of Joseph Pyfer in April.
Known as "GM3," Meerschaert has built a reputation as a finisher in the UFC, with all 10 of his victories coming by way of stoppage.
