Get ready for a clash of Brazilian-American titans as Kill Cliff Fight Club's Luque Vincente steps into the Octagon to headline UFC Fight Night against fellow countryman Rafael Dos Anjos. Explore the background, records, and upcoming battle of these dynamic fighters.
It’s Brazilian-American on Brazilian-American Saturday at UFC Fight Night: Luque vs. Dos Anjos when Kill Cliff Fight Club’s Luque Vincente headlines the main card with his fellow countryman Rafael Dos Anjos. The prelims begin at 7 p.m. ET, live from the UFC APEX in Las Vegas. You can watch it on ESPN and ESPN+.
(By the way, KCFC has, for the first time ever, TWO main event headliners in the same weekend: KCFC welterweight Logan Storley, 14-2, toplines Friday, August 11, at Bellator 298 against Brennan Ward, 17-6. You can see it on Showtime beginning at 10 p.m. ET. There are FIVE other KCFC fighters on that card, a KCFC record!)
Vincente, aka the Silent Assassin, has quietly amassed a 21-9-1 record as a pro; nonetheless he’s coming off two disturbing losses, including a third-round KO by Geoff Neal in UFC on ESPN 40: Santos vs. Hill. That was a year ago, almost to the day. Still, he’s won 11 of his 13 UFC battles, so let’s see if he rises to the bigtime occasion again on Saturday.
The veteran and former lightweight champion Dos Anjos, who’s first pro fight was in 2004, sits at 32-14 with a December 2022 win in his pocket at UFC on ESPN 42: Thompson vs. Holland, when he submitted Bryan Barberena with a second-round neck crank. He also has the Comeback of the Year title, but that was 2016, which, in MMA, was a long time ago. Should be a good one.
