Gilbert Burns and Renato Moicano share a hilarious reaction to Nursulton Ruziboev’s impressive 32 career finishes. Burns, surprised by the Uzbek fighter’s record, humorously questions the quality of his opponents.
Welterweight fighter Gilbert Burns has seen a lot in his MMA and BJJ career, but even he was floored when he discovered the incredible finishing abilities of Nursulton Ruziboev. This moment turned into a hilarious one when Burns, alongside lightweight fighter Renato Moicano, gave their opinions on Ruziboev’s record.
Recently made aware of Ruziboev’s astonishing 32 career finishes, Burns couldn’t help but crack a joke. “How many finishes? 20 submissions, 12 knockouts? That’s too much finish. Who was he fighting? He was fighting the construction guys in Uzbekistan, bro,” Burns quipped on the "Show Me The Money" podcast.
Ruziboev recently fought Joaquin Buckley, Burns’ prospective opponent. Buckley, however, went on to dominate the Uzbek fighter and won the fight via unanimous decision. Burns, with his own impressive record of 22 wins in 29 fights, respects Buckley’s skills but knows he needs to bounce back after his TKO loss to Jack Della Maddalena at UFC 299.
The UFC brass will decide who Burns fights next, and there’s a possibility he could face Buckley. Meanwhile, Ruziboev’s future remains uncertain, but he did catch some strays from Renato Moicano.
At 37 years of age, Gilbert Burns is in a pivotal position. With back-to-back losses, including a decision defeat to Belal Muhammad, he needs to get back in the win column to work his way towards another title shot. Burns has always been known for his resilience and ability to bounce back, making his next fight crucial for his career trajectory.
